Gambit, is a collaboration between MIT and Singapore goverment, that try to explore new directions in game developement.
One of their games (and the actual reason for this post) is AudiOdyssey. It is a game where you (the player) are supposed to be a wicked dj, Vinyl Scorcher, performing at a club and your goal is to make people get on the dance floor. You have to keep them satisfied and make sure they stay away from your decks, or they’ll ruin your performance. What is really innovative about this game though, is that it can be played by blind people too, without any loss in quality of gameplay! A Wiimote can also be used, for even easier playing. You can download the game here and you can try to play it with your eyes closed, to see if they are right ^^
Put a gun in my head, I am not sure why I am so happy about such a game. You can say what you want, but I somehow feel that there’s hope for the planet after all. Technology should be available for everyone and this game is such a proof.
I intend to have a good look at the rest of the games, they offer for download, and I advise you to do the same.
